If you loved the original "Pirates of Savannah," your teen will enjoy this book, specially edited for a young adult audience.

It made you want more! My grandchildren loved every minute of it. They didn't mind if it started out a little slow, because the book just keeps getting better and better as you go along. It's full of action, adventure and so much fun I didn't want it to end. Bravo and cheers to the writer. More books like this is what I want for my family. Adrena

I bought the book because I've been to Savannah and taken the tours, so I thought I'd enjoy reading some of the 'history' from a fiction point of view. I've recommended it to a friend, who teaches 5th grade and also enjoys Savannah, to read to her students.

Good, but has abrupt unsatisfing ending. A lot of typos, extra and misplaced words in quite a few sentences. There are also words with the same sound but different spelling and meaning used uncorrectly.o

I just love the characters in this book. Although this is a fictional account, it really captures the essence of the time period. There are some scenes that will try a person's soul as well as some uplifting moments. Overall it has a great message. The interaction between the characters and their colorful lives will really hold your interest. Underneath it all is the fight to escape tyranny and find true liberty. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it!

It was a great book. I like how it tied the story up in the end. The beginning is a little grusome, but not too bad. The whole story makes me want to read the second and third book!!!

This book is a wonderful adaptation of the original. It maintains the main themes and concepts presented in the adult version while using a language that will capture the youthful imagination. The plot leads the reader through many adventures and struggles with intriguining and surprisingly real characters. I would highly recommend this novel as a quality thought provoking fictional read. I mean really who doesn't love a good pirate story!

Great adaptation of the original so that teens can read it! The entire series is well done and the story is awesome. There is a mix of real events and fiction so that the reader cannot distinguish while reading which is which. Highly recommend it!

This book is a great alternative to the main books for younger readers. Plenty of adventure and, of course, pirates!

Before the book starts the author talks about wanting to stay true to historical events and writtings, the problem is, while his speech may be acurate not much else is. Indentured serverants were not treated halk as decently as he portrays or allowed as much freedom or luxuries as what the book allows. If you put all that aside the story is actually pretty good. The ending is a major cliff hanger though. Either there is a second book or this just ends and leaves you hanging.
