Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
When Jack Sparrow and his raucous crew return to New Orleans, they expect a grand time, not a jolly good fight. But then, they hadn't expected to find the city covered in metal and ruled over by the despicable Madame Minuit. A rousing buccaneer junior novel based on the lovable lead rascal of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Climactic seventh book to finish another storyline in this series

'Jack Sparrow #7: City of Gold' is perhaps the best book yet in this quick-read series that is intended for young to middle-age teens but is an enjoyment for anyone who reads them. Jack and his crew must travel back to New Orleans to keep the evil priestess from the fifth book from turning New Orleans to gold and holding it captive under her power. Meanwhile, Jack's crewmate Arabella shockingly meets someone closely related in her life, and most of the main characters who have accompanied Jack on these exciting, supernatural, yet awesome adventures discover their own motives to go their own separate ways. Shortly thereafter, Jack and one remaining crewmate startlingly run into a certain demon of the ocean depths, providing a tantalizing cliffhanger and springboarding the series into a whole new cargo of adventures that will ultimately carry Jack's story into the famed film trilogy.

    Awesome, another great adventure

'Silver' continues the story that gained steam in 'Jack Sparrow #5,' and really takes it with a lot of momentum, with plenty of excitement. Once a reader has finished reading it, they will immediately want to pick up the seventh book to conclude what happens in the current storyline.

Takes a step back from first four, but it's OK

'Jack Sparrow #5' takes the story of the beloved young anti-hero in a new direction, with much more supernatural elements to be found. Now that Jack and his crew have discovered the Sword of Cortes- and realized that its power corrupts and cannot be handled by one righteous man- the crew of the Barnacle head north in the Caribbean, where they must encounter evil voodoo and a deceptive priestess. This book is my least-favorite of the five up to this point in the series, but is still enjoyable.

    AMAZING

This book was off the charts. It was very suspenseful and I literally could not put it down. I originally had the first three in this series, but they were all so good I went to Barnes and Noble the day I finished the third and bought the next four. Tomorrow I will probably buy the next few.
