This is a highly readable portrayal of the lives of the pirates and marauders who prowled the Chesapeake waters during the golden age of piracy. Many of the raiders herein portrayed have been long forgotten, but Shomette does an admirable job of bringing them to life. The tale is heightened by stories of colonial tensions and political rivalries that help the reader form a general picture of the eras discussed. Was this review helpful?
