Cooking in a Northern Town with " Pit Stop in a Southern Kitchen "

What a fantastic cookbook. I have read through the entire cookbook and have tried a few of the recipes. Awesome. They remind me of my Grandmother. The stories of the families of the Earnhardts and the Gordon Bickfords are very interesting. There is a life that goes on beyond the racetrack.

Great reader and easy to follow recipes.

As a NASCAR fan, I bought this book for the reading...and enjoy the recipes just as much as the stories. My husband, a picky eater, also loves the dishes. Thank you.

Great cookbook for any NASCAR fan.

I purchased this book for my mother for Mother's Day, she loves it! I think nearly every receipe she makes now comes from this book. Martha and Carol have some interesting and delicious receipes. Some are easy to make for first timers and others just give a different twist on your regular everyday meals. My mother and I also enjoyed the stories that both these ladies wrote about their families and growing up at the track.

Down-to-earth and fun to look at

The pictures, the stories, and the recipes definitely make for a great
cookbook to keep or give as a gift! It's a keeper, and I like the recipes I have tried so far!

Don't But it Just For the Recipes!

Found some good home-style recipes in the cookbook, but was disappointed in how many of them were almost the same except with a few minor ingredient changes. You would have thought the two women would compile their favorites and sit down together and weed out any duplicates. I did enjoy the family stories. Would make a great gift for a true NASCAR fan who wasn't a foodie!

    more from this reviewer

For any NASCAR race fan Mom!

While watching a race one weekend, my mother and I saw an interview about the book. I love to buy cookbooks, and was surprised when my mother said she wanted this one. Dale Jr is one of our favorite drivers, and while Jeff Gordon wasn't, he became part of our favorite driver's, once Jr joined Hendrick. I immediately went online and ordered the book and am pleased by the recipes and short stories that both women have shared with us. This cookbook is a must for any race fan or just a mom or dad who loves to cook a home-style meal!
