Overview

There is NO justifiable reason to throw two dogs in a pit and watch them tear each other apart.
Following is basic breed information for anyone interested in acquiring a pit bull, for those who already have one or more and would like to learn more about the breed, or for anyone who would simply like to understand these great dogs a little better.
This page discusses the most notable traits of pit bull type dogs, including the potential for dog-aggression as well as their great love for people. You will learn that while pit bulls make wonderful family companions in the right hands and living situation, they require intelligent, responsible and dedicated ownership. Unfortunately, too many people obtain these dogs for the wrong reason and/or have little understanding of the inherent traits this breed possesses. It is unfortunate that one of the original purposes of the APBT was (and still is) dog-to-dog combat, but it's a fact that can't be denied or ignored. It's important that every potential pit bull owner understand the selective breeding process that took place to make the dogs of today.

    Pits

Why do people hate pits? I have one (a mix) that was abused as a pup. The people who had her litter wanted to have the cropped ears, yet didnt want to pay the bill so they cropped them at home with SCISSORS!!!!!!! Her ears are as long as my thumb is WIDE!!!!!!! It just brakes my heart. </3

    Cmon people!

I agree with ALMOST l the reviews. Pitbulls are sweethearts. If they have a problem, most the time its the owner thats like careless person or someone who thinks that hey just look cool to have a fighting dog. My family rescues pits, and honestly, they rock!

    My thoughts

How could anyone throw these sweet, gentle giants in a ring and watch them fight? Its one of the worst sins in my mind. But does anyone give a **** to help them? No! They sit back and laugh just for the hell of it!! I cant stand even thinking about it!! I have three pits that my entire neighborhood wants gone. They are the sweetest things you could ever meet!!!! Answer this, how would you feel if a giant man through you into a wooden ring and said, fight him or you die! Thats how they feel everyday!!! Please, before saying no to a adopt a ex-fighting dog commercial, put yourself in their shoes!!! And donate some money people!!!!!!
