Overview

Cricket Creek, Kentucky, is a sweet river town known for its theater, shopping, and cuisine. But tough times are crushing tourism—until a hard-swinging baseball team and three hometown heroes begin revitalizing the community one inning at a time.

Determined to prove her independence, Mia Monroe is no longer Daddy’s little rich girl. Buying an old car with the last of her money, she sets out for who knows where…until her clunker clunks out in Cricket Creek. With no plan and no credit cards, Mia has to find more resilience than she’s ever needed before. And a little help from an attractive new acquaintance wouldn’t hurt…

As first baseman for the Cricket Creek Cougars, Cameron Patrick has two jobs: win games and stay out of trouble. If he can do both, he might just make it back to the minor leagues. He knows Mia is trouble from the moment she catches his eye—but he can’t stop looking. And maybe her kind of trouble is exactly what he needs.

LuAnn McLane delivers another homerun in her Cricket Creek Novel

LuAnn McLane delivers another homerun in her Cricket Creek Novel, Pitch Perfect.

Mia Monroe is determined to prove that she can stand on her own two feet. Mia has coasted on her daddy’s money long enough. She strikes out on her own with a clunker borrowed from the family gardener. The car dies in Cricket Creek and with no means of support Mia is forced to find a way to make this work. Her first job as a waitress is less then stellar but it brings her to the attention of the first baseman for the Cricket Creek Cougars.

Cameron Patrick feels this chance with the Cougars is his last attempt to make it to the big leagues. He just needs to excel at the game and keep his nose out of trouble . But trouble comes in the fine form of Mia. Cameron is finding it a full time job trying to keep his hands and his mind off of Mia. There is something about her that he can’t stay away from no matter how hard he tries.

Mia slowly takes control of her life and learns she can do just about anything she sets her mind to do. Her friendship with Cameron explodes into a sizzling and sexy romp. But Mia hasn’t been completely honest with Cameron about her background and it could derail their budding romance before it has a chance to fly.

Pitch Perfect is an entertaining and all out sexy read. Cameron and Mia are opposites that work hard to find a common ground in their relationship. It was great to watch these two grow and change. An added bonus was the romance of Mia’s father Mitch Monroe and Nicolina Diamante. Its nice to see an “older” couple get their chance to be hot and sexy. Kudos.
