While Devina may have graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in microbiology, she started writing several years ago when working the graveyard shift at her first job out of college afforded her the luxury of writing. With little else to do but stare blankly at the computer screen, a short email telling a friend about the previous evening’s World Series game and her new favorite baseball player slowly unfurled into a 300-something page novel. That one novel launched both her writing career and a love of baseball.
Since then she has completed four contemporary romance novels: What a Catch, Pitcher Perfect, It Won’t Be Like This For Long (a quarterfinalist for Amazon’s 2009 Breakthrough Novel Award,) and, most recently, All The Little Pieces.
She has been a member of the RWA since 2009 and has been active in the San Francisco Area chapter, judging several contests.
She grew up in Half Moon Bay, California, and since college has also lived in Massachusetts and Oregon. Currently, she splits time between San Francisco and California’s Central Coast with her husband, Matt and flat-coated retriever, Burton. When she’s not writing, however, she enjoys rooting for her beloved Yankees, taking her dog to the beach and sailing.
