Mercedes Segarra has added another book to her series of “Little Chef” recipe books, this time focusing on pizza and pasta. Illustrator Rosa M. Curto makes this a book that readers will just want to spend time looking at the illustrations. Segarra begins with the basics of before you start cooking, how to cook pasta and different types of pasta, as well as ideas for decorating pizza. Each recipe that follows has a list of ingredients, an illustration next to each needed item, and then the directions listed set-by-step in number form. Each direction is also illustrated so that the child can have an idea of what it is supposed to look like. The multitude of fun and easy to make recipes will encourage children to try cooking. This book is a beautiful book to add to a child’s library. Adults will enjoy this book because of the ease and simplicity of the recipes. Reviewer: Beth-Anne White; Ages 4 to 8.
