The words of his will rang in her ears: "In the event of my granddaughter's death, everything will go to Vince Jeffers." Jeffers watched her with an evil look that made her shiver.

Now, afraid of what might happen, she was obeying a note she had received saying she was in danger and must leave town immediately.

After escaping to the community of Baxter, Christine begins to piece together a new life. The love she finds there, along with newfound faith, sustains her as she faces the threat of danger.

A Christian book for a wide spectrum of ages

I'm 68 and I saw a review from a 14 year old. I have been reading Lori Wick forever and the story line is good to lead the 14 year old with a stronger walk and purpose to a love story for me with plenty of twists and turns. i can't wait to read the sequel. Readers, do yourself a favor and buy yourself a nook. Features let you read in a dark room with hubby sawing logs, and also has a feature to blow up the text for those like me that need all the gimmicks to make reading enjoyable...better than the heavy LP books! Again I can't wait for #2 I especially like series books!

    Wonderful love story!

Lori wick is a wonderful author that seems to have the nitch for clean romance. This book was hard to put down and I can't wait to finish the series and find out how the lives of this Wisconsin family turn out.

It made me wish the family were my next door neighbors.

This is the first book of Lori Wick I have ever read. I couldn't put it down. It was in my church Library. I am now a follower of her type of book because of the Christian values. I was able to leave the real world for awhile but not feel guilty for sitting down and reading. This is a 'make you feel good' book. Romance and values all in one. I plan to buy my own collection.
