Barnes & Noble - Mark Schwartz
Tim McGraw in a New York City subway? Don't let the album art fool you -- A PLACE IN THE SUN stays firmly rooted in the country. But Louisiana native McGraw's urban sabbatical shows in the tough new edge and rock 'n' roll thrust of his music. Bottom line, as city folk would say, this is glittering new country, radio-friendly, and hit-bound many times over. McGraw digs into the songs of heartbreak and devotion to loved ones with winning commitment, and his supporting musicians match his intensity. Count on Tug McGraw's boy to cover all the bases: "She'll Have You Back" gives the package its killer, tear-stained drinking song, and the razor-edged guitars of "Seventeen" ...

Count on Tug McGraw's boy to cover all the bases: "She'll Have You Back" gives the package its killer, tear-stained drinking song, and the razor-edged guitars of "Seventeen" drive home a story of wanton teen lust. This long-player won't just keep up McGraw's phenomenal platinum streak -- expect the crisply executed crossover moves to expand his audience.
All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Everywhere may have continued Tim McGraw's streak of hit albums, but it also suggested that he was falling into a bit of a rut. That doesn't seem to have bothered McGraw, since Everywhere's sequel, A Place in the Sun, is much like its predecessor in its balance of polished ballads, country-pop and uptempo ravers, which are supposed to sound like honky-tonk but are closer to country-rock. Since he's a professional and works with professionals, A Place in the Sun sounds good and has a number of highlights, from ballads like "My Best Friend" and the Patty Loveless duet "Please Remember Me" to harder numbers like "Something Like That," "My Next Thirty Years" and "She'll Have You Back." The problem is, there's nothing new here -- not only is the music in the same vein as his previous efforts, it has nearly the same ratio of hits to misses. Since the moments that do work are very good, and since it is a stronger overall record than its predecessor, it will be worthwhile for fans, but it doesn't help erase the impression that McGraw won't deliver a truly satisfying album until a greatest-hits compilation comes along.

    The 4-1-1 on Mcgraw

The Place in the Sun album is the best album of Mcgraw's because it contains numerous well known hit songs. The great thing about the CD is that it contains songs the radio plays like ''Best Friend'' or ''Seventeen.'' The CD also has a fantastic balance between slow love songs and upbeat cute songs. Some songs will make listeners want to cry because they are so sweet, and the others will make listeners want to get up and line dance. This CD is great to listen to no matter what type of mood you're in.

    Who else?!?!

Tim McGraw is the ultimate country music artist. He puts on a fantabulous concert, sings unbelievable, has the best CD's, and how could I forget a hottie!! McGraw's CD is so uplifting, and moving. He touches on every subject from love to life to ''hanging out with his wife.'' Whenever you listen to him, it puts your mind in such a positive mood and makes you want to live life to the fullest and have the best day ever. His songs relate so true to life and ''A heart just don't forget something like that!''

    Tim Magraw is my hero.

Of all the songs I enjoy listening to, my favorite is ''My Best Friend'' by Tim Magraw. The song talks about a relationship where the people are best friends while also being in love. This song is so special to me because it is a song that I share with my girlfriend. It helps me to appreciate the relationship that we have. Everyone can relate to this song in some way or another because everyone has a best friend. The message of this song is awesome.
