Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
This handy book is aimed at teaching a tricky concept to primary and elementary grade children. The author provides a discussion of sources, rewording, when to use quotation marks, etc. Each activity is written in the style of a lesson plan, with the target skill, time needed, materials, associated prep time, and directions given in a clear, succinct layout. The lessons are accompanied by worksheets to copy for student use, as well as ways to extend the activities further, to increase or decrease the difficulty, and alternate ways to structure them. The table of contents provides a list of activities; the titles match the objectives of the lessons clearly, which allows teachers and librarians to find specific skill-based lessons with ease.—Nicole Waskie-Laura, Chenango Forks Elementary, Binghamton, NY
