Meet the Author

Alex Newton has been actively involved in Emergency and Disaster Preparedness since 2006, although his decision to become a "prepper" began forming in his mind during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Stuck in downtown Chicago, Alex realized just how unprepared he was for any major emergency or disaster.

Alex enjoys speaking to people about prepping and discussing the need for such actions.

Ever the fan of horror movies, Alex decided to combine his love of Zombies with his desire to help people realize the importance of Emergency and Disaster planning.

Alex is a featured columnist on a major prepping website and a regular contributor on several popular blogs covering similar subject matter.

Alex currently resides in Indiana with his wife, Sara, and his three children.

I bought this book because I am interested in the prepping movem

I bought this book because I am interested in the prepping movement. The author does a terrific job explaining the basics to prepping. He gives several logical incidences that give reasons to prep and then offers advice on what to bring when you're bugging out. Without giving too much away, I learned that a BoB is a bug-out bag and it's wise to have a PSS or primary shelter site before a disaster. Other things I learned are what kinds of things to bring, the value of honey, and that zombies are real (aka infected person who lost their sanity). This book is a must-read and should be in everyone's BoB! 5 stars. Dina Rae
