Overview

’Tis the season for romance. . .

. . .as hearts are rekindled with love in four contemporary romances set in historic plantation homes.

When Colorado widow Marilyn McLemore meets her daughter’s future father-in-law, a widower and cattleman from Mississippi, she is surprised how God in His plan completely reverses everything she felt she knew about her life.

Formerly considered a nerd by her classmates, Meredith Long, a now successful historical novelist, returns to her hometown of Natchez seeking peace with her past and inspiration, not expecting to find what she is looking for with the help of a handsome local history buff.

A moment of tenderness between divorced couple Devon and Sandra Brinks is all it takes to convince their twins that their parents are still in love. A Christmas wedding is the perfect venue to spring a trap and give them the best Christmas present ever—a second chance at love.

Planning perfect weddings is Wreath Anderson’s job, even if she stopped believing in love and romance the day she was left at the altar. But when an old friend turns up, determined to rekindle an old spark, she starts to rethink love.

Editorial Reviews

Babs Book Bistro - Barbara Hightower

This book has 4 wonderful stories that will draw any reader in and hold them until the very end.  I didn't have a favorite over any of the others as I enjoyed each one.

GoodReads - Larik Burci

Plantation Christmas Weddings Sweet 4-in-1 collection of contemporary love stories intertwined with amazing history. Each story was unique and touching in its own way.
Irene's Christian Reviews - Irene Grove

Don’t you just love sappy love stories around Christmas! These 4 stories were such fun to read. I liked that they had real life situations for the couples to deal with. The writing on each story was excellent. There was no part in any of the stories where I was bored or not entertained.

I thought the authors did a good job of writing real to life characters. I especially liked that each story was short and ended with a plausible ending. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian romances set around Christmas time.

kyetrabelton.com - Kyetra Belton

This was a nice collection of short stories. All of them had real life problems to deal with and centered around relationships and the Christmas season. They were also great Christian Romances with a deep connection to historical Mississippi. All four were well written and had believable endings. Completely recommended for fun, easy, reading for the holiday season.

Meet the Author

Sylvia Barnes thought after retiring early as a manager for BellSouth (now AT&T), she would sit on a swing and drink coffee. However, she opened a gift shop/tea room for three years, served as a part-time court clerk/deputy city clerk, and worked in her county’s after school enrichment program before finding a yellow pad on which she penned her first novel. Sylvia teaches a ladies’ Sunday school class and is active in many church activities. She and her husband, J. W., live in the country outside of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, with numerous dogs, cats, armadillos, and moles. They have two grown daughters and three grandchildren.

Lorraine Beatty is a multi-published, best-selling author currently under contract with Heartsong Presents. She has been married for more than thirty years and has three grown sons.
Virginia Vaughan was born and raised in Mississippi and has never strayed far beyond those borders. Blessed to come from a large Southern family, her fondest memories include listening to stories recounted by family and friends around the large dinner table. She was a lover of books even from a young age, devouring stories of romance, danger, and love. She soon started writing them herself. After marriage, two kids, and a divorce, Virginia realized her characters needed the same thing she needed—the healing grace and restoration power of Jesus Christ. She devoted her life and her writing to His glory and has watched God swing doors open for her to walk through. You can connect to Virginia through her website virginiavaughanonline.com.
