Overview

No connections. Play it safe. These were the rules Ivey lived her life by.

Until she hit Mustang, Colorado, a perfectly imperfect town where the citizens were welcoming and one of them included the tall, beautiful, macho man rancher cowboy, Grayson Cody.

On the run for a decade, Ivey knew she was supposed to play it safe. But she was tired of being on the run. She wanted a normal. She wanted real. She wanted a home.

And she wanted Grayson Cody.

And Grayson Cody wanted Ivey.

No one who looked at them couldn’t see they belonged together. There was one man in this world for Ivey and one woman in this world for Grayson Cody.

So they fell in love.

But just as quickly as they fell together, they were betrayed and torn apart. Separated for years, Ivey was certain her life would not include her rancher cowboy. Until the town of Mustang reached out to her when Gray was in trouble. Even though she thought he broke her heart, she charged in to help. Then Gray and Ivey discovered they were betrayed and, not only that, Gray had an enemy who would stop at nothing to defeat him.

Meet the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched). Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

Another hit by Kristen Ashley ! She totally deserves to be a best seller! Loved Gray and Ivie! My heart was broken and healed. If you are a big fan you will notice Gray has a picture in his bedroom from a famous photographer from her other series. Love that it takes place in my home state of Colorado! I kept hoping Joe/Cal from the Burg series would show up to put in security system via Ivie's fake Las Vegas boyfriend...oh well.

The overall plot of the book is okay but I did not finish the reading because I hated the female lead's choices throughout the storyline. The young love presented was hard to swallow... too cliche.

Second Favorite of K. Ashley's. I danced around buying this book since discovering Ms. Ashley earlier this year. I thought by the description of the book it would be just one giant cliche. Granted, based on other books I've read by this author that was a pretty stupid of me to think. Ivey's voice was extremely strong in this book and there were times in the extremely emotional parts you could hear and "see" her strength. Throughout the entire book there was an almost underlining sense of humor and acceptance of what's going on but knowing it's worth it because there's a love strong enough to pull her through. The only thing I didn't care for was how the ending played out for the "villain". However, Ashley made up for this by focusing at lot on Gray and Ivey. I'm pretty sure their love story is my new favorite from this amazing author

Kristen Ashley has done it again . Another hero you want to know; another heroine you want to be; another place you want to live. A beautiful story of first love, lost love and second chances.

Ok so the first few chapters were a little boring but then picked up and I was so ready to post 5 stars. Then midway through I was so not happy. However the end really made up for the middle.

Oh my, I loved this story! I have not read any of KA's books that I have not liked ( loved) and this one is no exception! The characters were brought to life just as she brings all her characters to life and makes you want to be a part of their family! Funny, heartwarming, sad (but in a good way) and altogether a story you hate to see end. Looking forward to book 2...Whit' story.

Ivy led a life of no connections, play it safe, and obey the rules. Until she arrived at Mustang, Colorado. After a decade of being on the run Ivy was tired of running, tired of playing it safe, and tired of obeying the rules. She meets Grayson Cody. No one who looked at them would think they didn't belong together. So they fell in love and just as quickly they fell apart. Years later Ivy learns Grayson is in trouble and rushes to help him only to learn they were betrayed years ago when they parted ways. I must say I love...no that's not strong enough...LOVE Kristen Ashley. Every title I get my hands on I devour and absolutely adore it. Kristen knows how to write a story that captures the readers attention and doesn't let it go. Ivy and Grayson are two people who meet, fall in love and are ripped apart by circumstances unknown by the other. Betrayed by outside forces cause these two to part and never look back. Until Grayson faces trouble with his ranch so Ivy swoops in to save the day only to find he doesn't want her help. This story caused me to cry, laugh and argue with characters out in public...so I got many curious glances. So to repeat myself because I can...I love Kristen Ashley's work she is so talented and creative I cannot help but absorbed everything she writes!
