Overview

Don't miss M.Q. Barber's compelling USA Today bestselling debut!

Neighborly Affection, #1

She expects dinner with neighbors, but gets sex with a side of safewords.

Mechanical engineer Alice still drools over her sexy neighbors a year after she's moved in. She can't decide whether they're roommates or partners, but either way, they spark a wanton desire in her that has her imagination--and vibrator--working overtime.

Henry, director of everything around him, studies human nature and applies philosophies to his paintings as well as his relationships. Quirky, polite to a fault, and formal, he follows his own code of honor even when it means denying himself.

Flirtatious and playful, Jay needs stability, guidance, and to please others. His antics counterbalance Henry's stuffy ways while he brings a level of vulnerability and fun to everything the trio does.

BDSM play with the enigmatic artist and flirtatious joker across the hall allows Alice to put aside the linear thought processes which have kept her unsatisfied and distant with other lovers. She must dismiss her preconception of love, sacrificing her independence, if she's to find a permanent place in their beds and hearts.

First of all, unlike what some reviewer said, these books MUST be read in order. I mistakenly didn't do that and was very confused by the characters. Secondly, I was not a big fan of the British tone of the books. The too proper language was a turn off and I wanted to just scream by the ending of the last book. I'm born and raised in N.J. and have never heard lovers talk like that! BDSM needs down and dirty, not prim and proper......

The ending I wasn't thrilled with . Kind of leaves one empty n wondering. Not great bt good erotica book. As for bdsm ,it shows a totally different side so people don't think its sick.

This book is way more than just sex (and trust me, it titillates, but good!); I LOVE these characters. They are so fascinating. And the book ended way too soon. I'm craving, craving, craving, more of Henry, Jay and Alice and promptly bought the next book.

Absolutely loved this book. The characters have depth and feeling and the story has a great flow. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger but there are others in the series with more to come.

Loved the relationship development and the D/s element. Well written depiction of a safe, sane consensual relationship...and it's sexy as hell! Can't get enough of Henry, Alice and Jay!

Sorry but I regret buying this book the stuffy guy with the weird stuffy vocabulary and the other guy who acted a 5 year old in a grown man's body there is no plot to this story no climax and it ends abruptly the story has no conclusion. Disappointed.

First: Read these in order! This is the first of five books, so far, with Henry, Jay and Alice. The books are told from Alice's point of view. (Becomming His Master" is from Henry's pov) Second: Keep on open mind about who and how love can come into our lives. This is a beautifuly written story. Third: M.Q.'s writing style is a little different than you maybe accustomed to but give it a chance and after a chapter or two it starts to flow in your imagination like a crystal clear brook winding through lush forest at dawn. In other words, thisbook is a wonderful story. I have read it a couple of times and I find myself wanting to spend more and more time in M.Q.' world!

I love this book.  It is well written, the characters are wonderful and I can't recommend this series enough.

I chose this book based on the many positive reviews, but couldn't have been more disappointed. I found the characters to be one-dimensional and boring. I found the Henry character to just be bizarre. There really was no story to speak of. If all you want is one sex scene after another, then this is the book for you. If you prefer to have a book with fleshed out characters and a good story, then stay away from this one. I realize it is a trilogy, but I won't be buying any of the other books in this series because I just do not care about these characters at all.

I did not expect this book to be so different from the usual BDSM l have read, but l have to say l thoroughly enjoyed the building relationship with these characters. The other books have a harshness of deed and words where in this one the same things are happening but there is genuine caring from the beginning. I will look forward to more about Henry Jay and Alice

Unexpected charm. Well developed plot that adressed my hesitations. Such talented writing. Banter and dialogue that completely flowed. Excellent!
