Gr 10 Up-Weird Goth-girl Skye has singled out Matt for attention. He's not sure why, since he's always tried his best to remain anonymous. He agrees to meet with her secretly and likes the excitement she adds to his life. When Skye claims that her stepfather abuses her and that her stepsister suffers from Down's syndrome, Matt feels compelled to "save" her. When another student warns him that Skye is not what she seems, Matt notices inconsistencies in her version of events and begins to question why she lures him to her parents' beach house for intimacy. The characterization and teen dialogue are mostly on target, with the exception of the remarkable maturity of Matt's 13-year-old sister. His self-questioning and paralysis when under stress will sound familiar to teens but the conclusion is disappointing.     eh...

    The plot was pretty good, but the end was a little too wierd for me. Im more of a happy ending person and the ending wasnt exactly depressing but it was messed up, i guess you could say. For those who like disturbing endings, you'll probably like this. I however did not enjoy it at all.

    A Good Book

    This story was a great, interesting read. Although I had wished there to be a bit more a the end. ex. Does Matt ever reconcile with his 'Sister' ?

    Highly Recommended! GO GET IT NOW!

    Playing in Traffic was a very climatic book. This book is deffinently for the older crowds. It is graphic and has all that drug/sex/violence mumbo jumbo. This book keeps you reading till the end, It was a great plot that will keep you guessing, not knowing what is coming up next. The ending is a shocker that will surprise everyone. I HIGHLY recommend this book, if you like a realistic life scenario that portrays teenage life to its fullist then this book it for you.
    So the question now is, are YOU ready for a awesome read? Yes? THEN GO GET THIS BOOK.

    unforgettable

    When i first picked this book up in my school library, i wasnt sure what to expect..i always read the first few pages, and with this book i never put it down..litterally. It took me about a day to read the whole thing, I was so into it, and it was edgy,and real. It should be made into a movie.

    Ive read alot of books in my day..but this one has to be in my top 10 favorite books ever..

    i love books with twists at the end..and this one is what makes the book so unforgettable..

    its truely amazing.

    Plating In Traffic is honestly a really good book to read and even to reread. The characters are very interesting in many ways. A must read for young adults!

    Great Book! ****

    Matt is a shy boy who isn't known for getting himself caught into trouble. That is until he is "picked out" by a disturbed girl named Skye. Matt is lured in by her charm, problems and sex. Their relationship isn't to be open to the public because of a sturr it would cause but one person finds out and tries to warn Matt about how Skye really is. Does he chose to listen to this person and confront Skye or does he continue to get caught up in her messy life?

    Being from the age group captured in this book i found the story very realistic. Gail Giles captures the readers attention by putting to very different people together. The ending was a little abrupt though. It was almost like the story wasn't finished. Still, this was a great book, especially for teenage readers.

    I couldn't put this book down! It deserves a lot more attention than it gets. I read this book in one day and im a SLOW reader. It took me about 5 months to read the goblet of fire. I definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes exciting novels.

    Shocking

    I love this book, it kept me turning the pages. I understood everything and it was well written. Plus, the end of the book made me shout out'No Way'. I would recomend this to everyone who likes mysteries.

    I couldnt take my eyes off it!

    Well this book was amzing. I loved it. Matt was an amazing character something about him maid me feel like he really cared for everything. I loved the fact that he loved his sister Katy no matter what. The ending was very good. I really want to find out what will happan next in the book. I still dont understand why Skye did such thing to Matt? Well I think you should read the book and see for yourself because everyones oppinion is different.

    Um, quite terrible

    Wow. This book was absolutely horrible, and I can't believe I wasted my time reading it! I was drawn in by a 'gothic' character. Be not decieved! The main female character, Skye, suddenly begins to pay attention to matt, the male protagonist, to get him to murder her parents...it's been done before, and better than this! Rather than work on creating a dynamic, changing relationship bewteen his two characters, the author simply starts them off having sex. It spirals down from there. Giles mixes 'goth' stereotypes with what is apparently his memories of the school whore- Skye is a cutter (though she just appears to randomly cut herself), Skye wears duct tape instead of clothing, etc., etc. Also, Giles wrote about a rave based on a second-hand account...heh. Silly man. Really, this book is not worth bothering about.

    Disappointing

    This book was about a 17-year-old named Matt who kept to himself and remained invisible like a 'ghost in the corridors.' Then Skye Colby 'picks him out' and starts giving him attention. They meet secretly at nights and pay no notice to each other at school. After finding out further secrets about Skye from a popular girl, Matt finally decides to ditch Skye but is forced to do something horrible or else something will happen to his sister. I loved the book except for the ending. It was still a mystery to me as to what happened but other than that, the book was a great read.

    What is she really thinking

    This book is about a shy boy who doesnt really talk to anyone, keeps everything to himself. Until Skye lures him into her web of deceit, confusion, and sex. The crazy part is someone dies, but who her sister, her mom, her dad? You'll just have to read the book to see.

    This book makes me re-think life...

    This book blew my mind. It starts out slow and then gains a pace that never stops till the insain ending. The way the author brings Syke into my life it made me think. I love the character of Matt. As i was reading the book i decided to read the last page. The last page made me want to finish the book. I stayed up and finished the book in oen night because it was so good.
