Overview

Ricki Sparks knows she can make a mean red velvet cake but can't believe she's let herself be talked into a blind date. When she opens the door to see the man she's been secretly sweet on since the first day he walked into her bakery, she fears her heart will be demolished. At least she knows she's in for a wild ride.

With a past like his, private investigator Garrett McBride doesn't feel he's worthy of a good woman's love. Especially not Ricki, the sweet, beautiful baker. But its not just her delectable baked goods that keep him coming back and it isn't long before he admits to himself that he wants her for his own. He never suspects that the greatest danger to her may come not from himself, but from the deceitful woman Ricki has befriended.
Love may not be the only thing Ricki falls into along the way as she finds herself in a world of deceit and betrayal that may cost her life. While Ricki is fighting for her life, Garrett must find her, before it's too late.

Ricki Sparks runs a bakery and every time Garrett McBride walks through the door she gets a hot flash. When her Aunt Madge sets her up with a blind date, never in a million years would she have expected him to show up on her doorstep. One evening out and the attraction is mutual. Seems like Ricki has what I call a stalker friend..the friend who wants to be the center of your world and absolutely does not want your attention elsewhere. Deena (stalker friend) does not like Garrett at all and doesn't hesitate to let him know. And then Deena decides that Garrett is not the man for Ricki, that he will be like most men .. like her ex-husband ... who was very abusive. There is a major twist to this story including two previous murders. I really liked the storyline as it was different and one I hadn't seen coming.

I enjoyed this story. It wasn't as action packed as the first 4 books, but it was still fun to read. Garrett is a hot mess. But once he figures out what he wants he goes for it. Ricki is sweet, just like her store. I love the ending of this story, its probably my favorite so far.

I think I liked this book. I have been reading this series and before that Rough & Ready. As a result the stories are sounding a like. Not that they aren't all good, relaxing diversions, they are, but same theme, diffrent characters. The other family members are not brought into the stories here much at all so .... This story had a diffrent little kick to it that was interesting and innovative. I liked that and am looking forward to reading the next to see if there is again something in it.

Ms McCray did not disappoint with this latest installment. Flashbacks to "SWF" (1992), or for the younger generation: "The Roommate" (2011), played in my head as I cringed with the twists and bit my nails to the quick. Plot was excellent & characters were AWESOME! I enjoyed EVERY page & hope there are MORE to come!!

I loved this book. I think this one is my favorite so far in this series. Ricki and Garret had great chemistry and I think their characters fit perfectly together. Their romance was fast but it didn't feel rushed. They both felt something for the other but didnt think they could act on it because of their personal insecurities. The suspecne was exciting and a nail bitting experience to read.  I think this is the hottest book so far in the series and I do mean smoking hot. *fanning myself*

WOW! Another great read by Cheyenne and it has an unexpected twist. All I can say is O-M-G and No-she-didn't! The book was hot, suspenseful, and fun. I really enjoyed reading this one even after reading the others in the series.

I love this whole series so far! Love that the characters had some issues and were trying to work thru them. The conflict involved with the story was pretty exciting too. Get this one or the whole series is worth the buy. 168 pgs. You also get glimpses into past characters from previous books as well.
