Adam thought the biggest shock of the weekend would come courtesy of the diamond engagement ring he has stashed in his luggage. So he's rocked to the core when he discovers the petite woman he hopes to make his loving wife turns out to have a secret and very kinky side, and that she wants to see him helplessly bound for her pleasure. When I read an erotica novella, all I ask is that it is hot and has scorching sex scenes. All of that character development, plot and metaphysical message crap can be saved for Literature. Just give me some hot headboard rocking, and we’re aces.

Thankfully, Kat Black understands this. Sort of.

The story begins with Sam’s naughty texts to Adam: she says she’s wet and needs relief, he replies that he’s hard. And we’re off!

The BDSM element comes into play when Adam envisions binding Sam to him, body and soul. He wants to put a ring on it, so to speak, and as a powerful, successful man, he is unaccustomed to nerves. Yet he has them, even if he’s rather certain that she will say yes.

Sam, on the other hand, has Ideas. She wants to bind Adam to her, but in more of a Christian Grey sense. She buys some rope and a blindfold to bring with her on the birthday getaway that Adam has planned. Unlike Adam, she isn’t all that nervous. She seems fairly confident that she will convince him to allow her to tie him up and tie him down.

But before we get to that, Kat Black has our happy couple make out in Sam’s apartment building lobby. And by “make out,” I mean Adam’s hands are up Sam’s skirt and down into the skimpy drawers he bought her. Oh, drat those untimely interruptions! They take things into the car, and while Adam’s driver takes them to the airport, Adam pleasures his would-be bride-to-be.

    Adam … le sigh.

Girls, Kat Black has created a hero who is the stuff of fantasies. Virile (is he EVER!), passionate, loving and respectful. But will he go for Sam’s bondage wishes? Can a man like Adam even be restrained?

As you can see, the plot here is nothing but a means to get these two into different sexual scenarios. Which is super-dee-duper, because those scenarios are pretty hot. Not the hottest I’ve read, but hot. My biggest complaint is that, short as this book is, there is not enough sex in it. Sometimes Kat Black lets the story get in the way of the sexy times, and that actually poses a distraction. I don’t care about Adam’s need to be dominant. Just let me see how dominant he can get!

If you want a quick, reasonably hot read, this is a good one. It just could have been better.

Favorite Quote: His cock twitched with eagerness as he imagined how mind-blowing it would feel to tunnel his full length into her tight little passage and have the molten heat of her core close around him. How breathtaking it would be to look down and watch his thick shaft emerge from her depths slicked with the sheen of his desire.

Christ! He shifted position again, gritting his teeth and pulling the next set of figures closer. The sooner he got finished with the business at hand, the sooner he’d be able to find a private opportunity to clasp a fist around his throbbing erection and set about inflicting some serious damage to the lust that had been riding him hard for days.
