Plenty to Come was a wonderful debut novel by Lara Valentine. The heroine, Cassie, is a very likeable character who's trying to make a new start in the small town of Plenty, Florida with her best friend, Jillian. Not long after moving to Plenty, Cassie meets brothers Zach and Chase Harper, who like to share their women - just as many men in Plenty seem to. I loved the tension between Cassie and the Harper brothers as they all got to know one another. Chase and Zach are attentive to Cassie's needs and are very protective of her when they learn about the horrors she left behind in Chicago. The relationship that develops between Cassie and the Harper brothers is sweet and the sex is smoking hot. I also loved the contracting characteristics between Zach and Chase - one is more laid back and gentle, and the other is more dominant and rough in bed. This book has a lot of emotion packed into it, held my attention the whole way through, and sets the stage perfectly for a sequel with the best friend, Jillian, and the pair of brothers who begin a relationship with her towards the end. If you like a good ménage romance novel, you don't want to miss this one!

My review from Goodreads: This was an okay story that had the potential to be a good story. It started off promising and I enjoyed reading the description of the town and of the main characters in this story. Cassie was a “tiny thing with long hair and elfin features. Slim, but she still managed to have curves. ” “While Chase radiated playfulness and charm, Zach radiated authority and power. Chase would probably charm the panties off women, and Zach would simply hold out his hand and calmly ask for them.” The cover of this book doesn’t look like these characters at all though. Just saying… Cassie has some bad stuff happen to her in her hometown of Chicago so she and her best friend Jillian make a fresh start and move site unseen to Plenty Florida to become teachers. A quaint town with very friendly people so different from Chicago’s hustle and bustle. Little did they know that Plenty, FL is a small town that is very accepting of polyamory. Charlie at the pizza place gave a good explanation of what this means when Cassie and Jillian stop by for a bite to eat their first week in town. “It’s not polygamy. It’s polyamory or m¿nageamous. And the men don’t take multiple wives. Only the women take multiple husbands. It started back a couple of hundred years ago. Florida was a dangerous, untamed place and it was to a woman’s advantage to have more than one husband to take care of her and the children. If something happened to one husband, well, she had a spare. Not to mention, unsettled territory like this didn’t have that many women to begin with, so men began sharing a wife. The tradition lives on in Plenty. Of course, not everyone has a plural marriage. Some have a regular monogamous marriage. But folks here are open-minded about things and people. We like it that way,” Charlie said. “We want people to live life on their own terms. The only thing different about a m¿nage marriage is the love. There is more of it.” Interesting explanation and a good segue way into this series. A whole town that is open, inviting and accepting of different kinds of relationships. Not just Wow! But Holy Cow Wow! What I found incredible was how easily Cassie and Jillian accepted this revelation with hardly any questions. I can understand them accepting alternate relationships since Jillian’s brother Mark is married to a great guy Travis but polyamory is all new to them. So where were the questions and the hesitating that would follow this kind of surprise…I think more time should have been spent exploring this. Hardly any time passes and Cassie, Zach and Chase are dating. This moves to fast for me. Zach is described as dominate but I didn’t really see or feel any D/s dynamics between him and Cassie…A little ‘slap and tickle’ but nothing that I would term Dominate/submissive. The sex between them is nice but not as many scenes as I would have like were described for a story this long. The middle of the story passes pretty quickly though not always smoothly. Lot’s of details on what I think will be a second book staring Jillian and possibly a third book with Becca. Both characters sound interesting. The end where the bad guy comes into play just went to fast, not much suspense. Overall not a bad book, it just needs more work to make it a good book.
