Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Trina Heidt
Plodney is very unlike the other sloths. He always wants to go and has a terrible time trying to be slow. At Sloth School, he tries to get the other sloths moving like he can, but to no avail. They prefer to laze around in the trees for hours on end, play dead jaguars, and study sleeping. Plodney feels very left out until one day, in the rain forest, his speed is needed to save his friends. Plodney learns that being different is okay. Plodney Creeper is a beginning reader book in the "Blue Bananas" series. This book is NOT recommended, as the story is too contrived and ultimately uninteresting. The publisher blurb on the back cover states that "speech bubbles add to the fun" but for a beginning reader they would, indeed, be more of a distraction. The illustrations are colorful but garish and are not at all appealing.
