Fresh, insightful take on creating your story

The title "The Plot Whisperer" doesn't do justice to the depth of the author's insight on the process of developing and structuring a story that works. An invaluable tool/writing companion, especially for those with an understanding or interest in the connection between your journey as a writer and the way your story unfolds.

I always thought my favorite authors sat down to the blank page

I always thought my favorite authors sat down to the blank page and wrote fantastic stories. I've been trying to fit that model for years and though I'm sure many writers succeed this way, I've realized my brain doesn't work like that. I stumbled upon Martha Alderson's YouTube videos on "Plotting a Novel, Memoir or Screenplay". Light bulbs started going off and I immediately purchased her three books. I'm working on a novel now and can say for certain that I would not be where I am today without using the pre-plotting plan she outlines in the book and workbook. I had worried that pre-planning would kill the spontaneity, but that has not been the case. These books have been a life changer for my writing.
