    Glad I Brought This Book

I purchased this book in June 07 and am extremely glad I spent the money! This book is based on the PMBOK, 3rd Edition. It's very easy to follow, has great examples of PM processes and the author simplified important information I needed to prepare for the PMP exam. Amazingly, I did not get as bored with the material in this book as I did with other books just restating the PMBOK. I even found instances of PM humor. The final exam in the back of the book was very helpful in assessing weak areas requiring additional study. I successfully passed my PMP exam August 2007. I definitely recommend this book.

Pass on first attempt. A must for candidate!

I read the whole book, finished all the review questions and passed my PMP exam on my first try. The book is a perfect compliment and guide for the PMBOK, and the materials provide summary for PM processes, as well as the supplementary information to various topics, equipped you with adequate knowledge and skills to tackle the PMP examination.

The chapters on time and cost management is a must for candidates, as the special sections on formulas clarify the concept as stipulated in the PMBOK. The tables on different processes, with key outputs, are very helpful in enhancing understanding to the project management processes, and well organized to aid memorizing.

All in all, a highly recommended exam book. Look for the next edition for the new PMP exam.

    This book is EXCELLENT

I used this book and a 3 session review course that also referenced the book and passed the exam on my 1st try. The exam questions are very good and if you follow the additional online tests, you'll have a better feel for the exam as well. This book emphasized learning not memorization so you could really understand the practices.

    Passed on my first try!!!

Forget the classes! Use this book with your PMBOK and you will pass the class. Andy's book contains the 'extras' that showed up the exam that were not included in the PMBOK. These two and Rita's exam book are the only 'tools' you will need to pass the exam on your first try.

The only book I used to study and it was right on the money

This book was perfect for studying for the PMP Exam since it followed the PMBOK perfectly and dug in deep to those parts that are relevant to the exam. I did not study for the time frame recommended, so I bought this book hoping it would assist me and focus my study efforts. It definitely did and I passed on the first try. The exam was extremely hard, but this book got you to start thinking the way that PMI thinks. Most of my questions were word questions, so this was critital for me. I did not have any WBS or calculations to do. I would recommend this book for anyone taking the exam.
