Pocket Guide for EMT Prehospital Care

by Alice Twink Dalton, Mark C. Henry, Edward R. Stapleton

A handy pocket reference and great refresher for between calls, after calls, even en route! This book offers easy access to common procedures, protocols and safety precautions. Plus, it's organized by complaint so readers can easily turn to the problem at hand for a quick reminder of the most appropriate actions, and how, when and where they should be carried out.

Editorial Reviews

Reviewer: Mose L. Freeman, Jr. (University of Chicago Hospitals)
Description: The contents of this book are good, but the structure is not very good as a quick reference pocket guide.
Purpose: The purpose is for review, not for a quick pocket guide in the field. The objectives are good, and the book is needed. As a review for recertification, it is very good.
Audience: This book is targeted to EMTs A, I, and P. I believe that this is not what the author intended. The author wanted a field quick reference book. The author is very credible.
Features: This book is very good for a study guide. The table of contents is very adequate. Unique features of the book (e.g., glossary, appendixes, color art) and the value of these features to the reader are highly significant.
Assessment: This would be a very good refresher review text for recertification testing. This book should be individually purchased. This edition offers enough information to justify replacing the previous edition.
