Overview

A Pocket Guide to the Hawaiian Islands takes you on a magical tour of the major Hawaiian Islands exploring its beauty and spectacles. We see Kaua'i's steep pinnacles and razorback ridges, its waterfalls and dormant mountains. On O'ahu, we see a tropical urban metropolis situated against a backdrop of natural beauty-scores of beaches, well-defined bays, dry leeward plains, coral reefs and sheer fluted cliffs.

We see Maui's sunfilled, playful and athletic adventures, its sunny coasts, awesome mountains, and volcanic domes. And we glimpse its sister islands-Kaho'olawe, Läna'i, and Moloka'i.

On the Big Island, we see geology at work as its active volcanoes reshape the land, tottering with almost every climate and terrain known to man.

All of this is possible through the breathtaking photography of noted Island photographer Douglas Peebles and a team of travel writers-Curt Sanburn and U'i & Steven Goldsberry.
