Features: The book lacks special features; there are no references, tables, or graphics.
Assessment: This short book tells the stories of women with breast cancer based on the content analysis of two interviews with each of 20 women. The chapters are arranged based on the major concepts threaded through the interviews, such as the reaction to the diagnosis, being out of control, reaction to treatment, the changing world, and becoming more alive. Although the author states she has an interest in health and wellness, she does not delineate the theoretical basis for the content analysis. In addition, it would have been helpful for the researcher if the author would have embedded this work In the larger research work on women with breast cancer.
