This is a dense journey of literary discovery. Sorry, it's not a quick read, but it is a book you may want to keep around to savor and marvel at a bit at a time. Both scope and depth are challenging. I love bilingual books, and The Poem Itself is bilingual in several language pairings. I've been working on a borrowed 1960 first edition for quite some time now, and am delighted to see it has been reprinted, so that now my friend can have her book back!
