    more from this reviewer

We sit on the shoulders of giants when we read their great works. From story tellers, to biographers, to the best poets of the centuries; there is always plenty to learn here.

An incredible compilation of the greatest poets that ever lived for such a small sum to be had. You know some of us like romance poetry like the type I write in my nook book and others like to read the words of naturalist's poets who fill the mind with the Earth's treasures. Others can captivate the axis of our thoughts with joy and pain; the story of a childhood life; the winds of war; the risen and the fallen; poverty and wealth; those we have love or wish to have loved and the inevitable heartache of loss. I think poets were put here by God to inspire us to reach higher or sink lower; to find ourselves and to take us to where reason awaits. From the poets lips; from the depths of his or her imagination; from all that he or she has known or ever felt; from page to page we taste, we feel, we encounter a world of vistas at our fingertips here. For such a small sum.

    Great Poetry But.....

The downside of this E-book is that it is very difficult to go to a particular poem. You can easily go to the first page of the author, for example Longfellow but it is next to impossible to go the poem "Midnight Ride of Paul Revere"

fantastic collection...those who love poetry should check it out.

in this day of rushing around with no and a time to do anything, it was nice to revisit old friends like Longfellow and Keats to name only two of the poets represented in this collection. i had stumbled on to the title by accident, but wonderfully awed by the collected works represented in this book.
