Overview

The title of the book defines just what lies within it's pages. A collection of poetic phrases and digital photographs, enhanced and edited with the emotion or feeling that came across when I viewed it. It started with taking photos of the sunrise for a friend, who was missing them while attending morning yoga classes, and it grew to trips in the car taking pictures of what I thought was beautiful, or thought provoking. I spent the better part of a year roaming around a tri-county area stopping in parks, along the riversides, different neighborhoods, country backroads, etc'., with a camera in one hand and coffee in the other, my only passenger being a pen and paper, and I would jot down different phrases or idea's that came to mind from whatever area I was in. It got to be like therapy, being out in the open air, surrounded by nature and a peacefulness I longed for. I started sharing a few photos and phrases with a couple friends, and the idea for a book was born from the conversations that followed.

Meet the Author

I'm just a midwestern guy, a child of the 60's and early 70's, who grew up in Northeastern Illinois 60 miles south of Chicago in a small town named Kankakee. It's an old railroad town with lots of city parks, beautiful riversides, countless churches, great victorian architecture, and many different races and cultures. There wasn't much to do for entertainment growing up, so my friends and I always had to use our imaginations to come up with something new, and usually not to well thought out things to do. Reading and writing became my escape from boredom in my teen years, and that's carried on into my adulthood. The interest in photography is quite recent, and apparently people like what I see through the lens. I just hope you enjoy what you see and read here as much as I did getting it all together to share with you.
