In his first book, This Is a Book, Demetri Martin introduced fans and readers to his unique brand of long-form humor writing. That book spent twelve weeks on the New York Times bestseller list Now Demetri returns with an eclectic volume devoted entirely to his trademark drawings and word play. POINT YOUR FACE AT THIS contains hundreds of hilarious drawings and visual jokes, showcasing Martin's particular penchant for brevity.

With a sensibility all its own, this is a great gift book and an absolute must-have for fans of the brainy, ambidextrous, comedian, palindromist (and author), Demetri Martin.

Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

Demetri Martin is a minimalist comedian who achieves maximum effects. In keeping with that theme, he has filled this small-format paperback with one-line jokes, simple drawings, petite poems, and short prose. Point Your Face at This is the perfect shelf-mate for Martin's This Is a Book. A man of just the right number of words. Editor's recommendation.

The Washington Post - John Wilwol
…his brilliant, zany new…book is filled with Martin's famously clever doodles and diagrams that comment on big ideas, like love and death, and smaller annoyances, like waiting in line. Some are delightfully inane, others are hysterical, and a few will stay with you long after you—as Martin scribbles at the end of the book—"point your face somewhere else."
From the Publisher
ACCLAIM FOR THIS IS A BOOK

"Showcases a dry wit that recalls early Woody Allen . . . Martin can add another line to his resume: literary funnyman."
--New York Post

"This is a linguistic hoot . . . a breath of fresh air . . . [The reader] will be absolutely entertained."
--Washington Post

Meet the Author

Demetri Martin
Demetri Martin rose to relative obscurity when he started doing stand-up comedy in New York City at the end of the 20th Century. Later he became a writer at Late Night with Conan O'Brien and then a regular performer on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. In 2003, Demetri won the Perrier Award at the International Fringe Festival for his first one-man show, If I. He released a comedy album called These Are Jokes and then created and starred in his own television series called Important Things with Demetri Martin. His first stand-up comedy special, Demetri Martin: Person was considered by many to be his longest and only hour-long stand-up comedy special until the release of his second special, Demetri Martin: Standup Comedian in late 2012. Martin has appeared in movies as an actor, most recently in Steven Soderbergh's Contagion and most lengthily in Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock. His first book, This Is a Book by Demetri Martin was a New York Times bestseller. Demetri has brown hair, and he is allergic to peanuts. You can find him at www.demetrimartin.com, at www.facebook.com/demetrimartin, on Twitter @demetrimartin, and in various places in the actual physical world.

This book is filled with drawings by the very funny Demetri Martin. He can make you laugh with just some doodles. The images are not only funny, but thought provoking in a weird way. Weird is good.

Eh, this book is not as awesome as the other reviewers state. It is mildly entertaining for far less than an hour of your time for the whole book. Certainly not worth $9.00 when  the content is so short, and really isn't that great.  If I could return it to the store, I would. Or give it away, which I can't since nothing is ever lendable on the Nook.  Don't waste your time buying this until it moves into the $0.99 category for Nook.  Trust me on this. I'm pretty sure the other reviewers are his friends.
