Meet the Author

Jaleta Clegg loves to paint with words, since she can't do it with brushes and pencils. She prefers to play in futuristic worlds where blasters and spaceships are common. She writes science fiction adventures and silly horror short stories and dabbles in other genres as the mood strikes. Poisoned Pawn is her third novel. She has several dozen short stories published in various anthologies, magazines, and websites. She refuses to write poetry. She lives with a horde of her own children, two large dogs, an obese cat, zombie frogs, one beta fish, and an extremely patient husband. Her hobbies include creating strange things out of yarn, piecing quilts, and collecting B-scifi movies. Spacehunter in the Forbidden Zone is one of her all-time favorites. Her taste in movies is only eclipsed by her eclectic taste in music. Accordion disco polka folk songs, anyone?

She's worked as a fry cook for a national fast-food chain, check-out clerk in a college bookstore, substitute teacher, and most recently as a planetarium director and all-around everything at the Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center (www.spacecamputah.org) where showing up in a Klingon costume for work raises no eyebrows.

This was the third book of The Fall of the Altarian Empire.  I am sure I would have enjoyed this book much more if I had read the first two in the series.  Even though I didn't I really liked this book because of the action sequences!  There was plenty of action that kept me entertained!  I also liked that the space setting to the book.  I will be honest I wasn't much of a fan of the romance but the action more than made the story for me!  I will now have to go back and read book one and book two!
