    Very Useful and Fun

    My son is a Pokemon Maniac and asked for this guide when he was about halfway through the game. It was packed so full of information, that he ended up going back to get some useful items. The guide has detailed information on the various kinds of Pokemon that will be met in battle, and this helped my son strategize and decide which kinds of Pokemon to raise. The presentation of the guide is fairly luxurious, with nice quality paper and full color illustrations. Although I generally think that guides for games take away from the fun of playing, this guide seems to have really enhanced my son's gaming experience.

    Helpful

    Ir is a very helpful guide, but I think it should cover the entire game. My kids use it every time they get stuck. They can find the information they need quickly and easily. The map is very helpful too. It is a great gift for any Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver for the DS players. The map is a good tool, as well as the guides for finding pokemon and items.

    A Good Guide, just not a complete one...

    For any familiar with any of the previous Pokemon game guides, this one follows the same format, with one essential difference; it does not cover anything about the game after defeating the Elite Four, which is more that 75% of the game content. For what is there, it is well organized and fairly easy to use. But, for what it lacks, I would reccomend skipping this guide, and waiting for hopefully a more complete guide to be released.

    A great game guide

    Pokemon: Heartgold & Soulsilver game guide was very useful and informative. This guide book makes Pokemon Heartgold & Soulsilver games easier to play and a lot of fun, if it the first time you've played a pokemon game.

    YOU CAN"T CATCH THEM ALL

    Even though most people (me included) bought this guide it is of little use and is not nearly as good as the Previous pokemon guide. It helps you beat the gyms leaders and the elite four but not much else. Plus its confusing an item that could be gotten in the game Full Incense is found in a cave in Johto as it says when you look in that section of the guide though when you look it in the index it says you can't find the item in the game so you really have to double check the guide for some of the times for errors. Plus there are places that are not even mentioned like kanto the areas where I've heard you can catch Kyogre and Groudon (Its true there is a cave that is by the Safari zone you have to surf over and use rock climb to get to it though i don't know how to make the legendary pokemon appear). So if I where you i would save my cash and go buy the vol. 2 later.

    P.S in case you where wondering the guide only goes to when you beat the elite four and it won't show you anything except a teaser page about it.

    Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver

    I purchased this book as well as other Pokemon books for my seventyish mother who loves to play pokemon games on her Nintendo DS. Whenever a new Pokemon game comes out I'm standing in line somewhere to purchase it for her. I know the hint books are a give away, but remember she is seventyish and is deserving of the hints.
