Palin's text is fascinating for his warm, witty comments on other cultures, for his first hand viewing of dramatic political events and his wry commentary on his own adventures while traveling longitudinally from the North Pole to the South Pole. Includes hundreds of photos. The program Pole to Pole will be re-broadcast nationally on PBS in April 1995.

Being a Monty Python fan, I have I would have loved to follow Michael Palin on this challenging journey. The book is so good because it really gives you an insight of what Michael had to face. From the North Pole to the South Pole Michael talks about his travels, the people he meets, and some of the unfortunate problems such as his broken rib. The pictures are absolutly spectacular and to me nothing says it all better than a picture. I would highly recommend this book. I also got this book signed by Michael Palin recently and I will always treasure it for years to come. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
