Overview

The Consortium of the Gods is falling apart. The powers that were once balanced have been tipping into the hands of an ambitious God, one who seeks to unite the allegedly befouled system.
the first domino to fall in the siege of power is the Ambassador of Frost, one of the axis gods in the Consortium. Following his fall, without the support of his silent peers, this demigod devouring tyrant sought to enact the next part of plan to amass power.
The story begins as the son of the first god wakes from a slumber in the sea, without past memories or knowledge of the future and increasingly dystopian world he was thrust in.
Much has changed from when he was once living, and Froxxe must now understand the messages presented through his dreams to unlock his true identity, as well as the mystery behind stopping the tyrant god.
Froxxe rises from a sea of nothing to unite the unlikeliestof characters in his new world to to rise and challenge what lines bound mortality-- to understand how to empower oneself, and then, the world.

    Ashrain's Path by Nebula
Chapter Eight

OMG. I’m SO sorry that I missed the last few months! I just kinda lost interest. I will try to keep it from happening again. Anyways, this is Ashrain’s Path, to any new readers. Please always say what you think of it. Even if it’s not very nice. But try to phrase the not nice things nicely, if you get what I mean. It’s just a nicer thing to do. So… here goes… I am proud to present; Ashrain’s Path!

Ashpaw was in utter shock. So many things were going through her mind at that second; she didn’t know what to think. Finally she managed to say something.
“Are you crazy? There is no way I’m going to a magical kingdom with a crazy, emotionally challenged former rouge to learn how to use these dumb magical powers that probably aren't even real!” She shrieked. Graytears flinched.
“Well, when you put it like that, it sounds much worse than it actually is.” He muttered. Then he straightened, all signs of sadness lost. “But what I’m trying to say is that you could see again! I mean, don’t you want to be able to see?” Ashpaw stopped shrieking and started to listen to what he was saying.
“Right now, you’re blinder than a bat and you will never, ever, have a chance to see. But if you tried these powers out, then you wouldn’t have to ever be like that!” Ashpaw snorted.
“My life is all right the way it is, thanks. I don’t need to become a crazy emotional kook to know that. I think that I’ll not take your deal. It’s a load of mouse dung.” She turned around and started to walk back to the camp. She heard Graytears following her and she quickened her pace, hoping to outrun him. She raced along, the rocky ground scraping at her feet.
“Slow down! You’ll hurt yourself!” Graytears yowled from behind her. Ashpaw ignored him as she flew like the wind, fleeing from Graytears. Suddenly she felt the sting of brambles all over her body.
“Ow! This hurts!” She growled. She sensed Graytears right behind her and struggled more, the brambles scraping at her sides as she fought to free herself from them.
“Ashpaw, listen. I will help you get out of the brambles, but you need to stop running away from me and listen to what I am saying for once! Is that Ok?” Graytears said. Ashpaw nodded.
“Ok, so we already know that you are a blind cat, who can’t see. Not even if she tried. Like, she will never, ever, ever, be able to see. Like…” Graytears was cut off by a huff from Ashpaw.
“Get on with it!” She mewed in annoyance. Graytears sighed and continues talking.
“Anyways. you are blind, and the power of Beyond the Waterfall can make you see. That’s all there is too it.” Ashpaw snorted.
“What about the part where I become emotionally... challenged... and stuff? I mean, isn’t that important too?”
“Well, you see, the thing is… there is a prophecy.” Ashpaw looks at him for a second before she sighed in exasperation.
“Graytears, come on. I don’t even believe that there is a Beyond the Waterfall or whatever, much less in a power that allows you to see and or feel other cats emotions. That’s ridiculous. And now you want me to believe that there is a prophecy? A dumb, stupid, idiotic, prophecy? Seriously?”
Graytears looked at her crossly. “I’m not done talking. You have to listen to me, or else I won’t help you out of the brambles.” Ashpaw rolled her eyes, but she fell silent, allowing him to speak. “As I was saying, there is a prophecy that might allow a cat to not feel the sadness and the shame of others. It is a real thing. I myself heard it.” At this Ashpaw had to break in.
“And that proves anything? You could be making this all up for all I know.” She was more annoyed than angry now. Graytears must be making all this up. He had to be. It was probably a prank that Ratpaw and Darkpaw were playing on her.
“Yes, a prophecy. It is real, no matter what you say, and it goes like this; There will be the ashen pelted one, whose powers of sight go beyond the sense of the eyes. The sadness that grips the nation will not affect them, and they will take the power, no matter what the cost. I think this might… I think this must mean you.”
Ashpaw’s blank eyes stared at the ground, contemplating what this could mean. Was she the ashen pelted one? Of course she would take the power, but what was the cost? These questions swirled through her head. Finally she spoke.
“Ok, Graytears. I attempt… and I only will attempt… to take this power of ‘Beyond the Waterfall’.”

~ Nebula, signing out.
