Overview

Why the Left's anti-hunting propaganda is dead wrong

Nothing is more hated-and more misunderstood-by the trendy Left than hunting. But now intrepid hunter and pro-hunting activist Frank Miniter sets the record straight. In The Politically Incorrect Guide™ to Hunting, he details the concrete benefits that hunting provides to all of us-even how it helps the environment. Speaking with wildlife biologists, hunters, farmers, anti-hunters, and victims of animal attacks, Miniter explains how banning hunting negatively affects wildlife populations and conservation.

Miniter's fearless, politically incorrect take on hunting lays out the facts that liberal enviro-nuts don't want you to know, including:
  • How a well-intentioned policy of "live and let live" with Florida alligators resulted in human deaths
  • Why you're more likely to be attacked by a bear in an area where hunting is forbidden, such as a national park
  • Why non-lethal alternatives to hunting don't work to control animal populations
  • Why even vegetarians depend on hunting for their dinner (especially those who demand organic or locally grown food)
  • How hunters are wildlife's best defenders-far more effective than big-budget "green" groups
  • How deer cause more human deaths each year than sharks, cougars, bears, and alligators combined
  • Why hunting is statistically safer for kids than football, bicycling, and tennis

If you love hunting, you need to arm yourself with The Politically Incorrect Guide™ to Hunting, so that the next time you encounter an anti-hunter, you'll be equipped to shoot down politically correct myths and defend this great American sport against all attacks.

    Good read

Despite C. Peck - Haralson's ravings from the left this book is a good source for those who don't understand hunting and have a genuine interest in learning. The best teachers I have had were the ones that taught me to approach everything with an open mind but don't be afraid to question. My advice - Don't be run off by stale ultra-left rhetoric - read the book and make your own INFORMED opinion. Remember also, this is about hunting and its place in American society - don't fall into the trap of gun control that is a seperate issue. This book is not about politics either. Let's stay on the subject. Read the book, check out the facts and you may be surprised.

Hits Home in the saddest ways

To quote this wonderful book 'Deer kill ten times more peoople each year than sharks, cougars, bears and alligators combined, and more poeple than all commercial airline, train and bus accidents combined.' A friend of mine was killed in a collison with a deer in the state of NJ (has some of the worst hunting policies in this country). This isn't rhetoric or politics it's the unfortunate result of people who put the idea of a cute little bambi ahead of a wonderful woman who was a wife, mother and friend. I would like to recommend this book to EVERY singe political leader in this country and then maybe we can have some common sense instead of wasting lives and personal safety!!

May well be the definitive guide on why we must hunt

Whether you're a meat eater or vegitarian this may well go down as the definitive guide on why we must hunt or perish as a species. Frank shows, once and for all, what happens when bears, alligators, wolves etc. are left unchecked. They eat all other game and then start licking their collective lips when they see us! Read the chapter on why there has never been a human killed by an alligator in Louisiana compared with all the deaths in Florida even though it's LEGAL to feed alligators in Louisiana and Louisiana has 50% more alligators! Geese, ducks and birds? They just love to fly into jet engines. Vegitarians won't have anything to eat without hunters. Hard to swallow but it's true. One of the best reads of the year.

    Sets the record straight.

All environuts and left wingers should be required to read this, especially the parts about how revenue from taxes applied to all aspects of hunting/fishing sales are applied to wildlife and land conservation efforts that FAR exceed all the efforts by the left wing environmental groups! Remember areas with the strictest gun control have the highest crime rates, areas with the loosest gun control laws have the lowest crime rates.

    Do not insult my intelligence

I have no interest in books of this sort. We as a nation have been subject to crazy ultra conservatives for the last six years. I plan to vote left wing all the way. The middle class deserves better. I am all for gun control.

    Thank you C. Peck-Haralson, a teacher,

    C. Peck-Haralson, a teacher, just convinced me to buy this book. For I too support gun control. I practice at least once a month.

    Reply to Teacher's comments

The teacher above is displaying a common liberal person's attitude. For some reason, liberals can't stand listening to or even considering anything other than what they think is correct. This teacher should read the book first without any predetermined bias before making any cry baby comments.
