Meet the Author

Melissa J. Morgan started going to sleep away camp when she was eight years old and didn't stop until her first job after grad school refused her request for eight weeks of summer vacation. She's since quit that job to become a full-time author. The only reason she didn't go back to camp is that her husband refused to join her. Melissa lives in New York with him and Bugle, their Chocolate Lab.

This book was about some girls who are all friends that go to Camp Walla Walla over the summer. This summer their camp is going green. They have to do things like take three minute showers, recycle, and they are going to have a green festival. There is a great deal of drama over who is going to be in charge of the festival. The president's daughter, Tricia, is also going to go to Camp Walla Walla for the green festival. All of this causes lots of drama and friends get furious at each other. Will they ever speak again? Will they be able to make up by the end of the summer? Read the entire book to find out. I thought this book was magnificent. This book had a great quantity of imagery and had great word choice. I could see everything playing out in my head. This book was a great story with characters that I could really connect to. This story could really happen and lots of girls probably go through the same things. I would recommend this book mostly to girls ages 8-12. Also, if you liked this book, there is a whole series you could read about this too. There is also another series I would recommend to all people who liked this book. The series is called Summer Confidential, and I think if you liked this book and series you would really like Summer Confidential. I hope everybody who reads this book enjoys it as much as I did.
