The "silly old bear" is back. Christopher Robin has told him that winter is coming and so Pooh plans a party to welcome Winter. While out inviting all his friends to the party, Pooh discovers a snowman who he mistakens for their new friend, Winter. Piglet decides that shy, quiet Winter should come inside to warm up. Pooh and his friends haul Winter onto a sled and cart him inside to sit in a place of honor by the fire and give him fresh snowballs to eat. Winter refuses to partake of the feast and seems to be upset. His smile fades and his carrot nose droops. Christopher Robin arrives on the scene just in time to explain to everyone that winter is a "what" not a "who." The snowman is restored to its proper place... outside in the winter wonderland.

Winnie the Pooh Welcomes Winter is a great book. Pooh and his friends hear that winter is coming so they decide to throw him a party. What they dont know is that winter is not a person. It is very entertaining even when you are not a kid. I always read it to the little boy I babysit and he falls asleep before its even over. I would definately recommend Pooh welcomes Winter. It is good for boys and girls alike. I read it to a three year old and a five year old and they both love it. All of the books in the My Very First Winnie the Pooh Series are excellent for kids. If you are not sure if you should get this book I guarantee that you and your kids will love it.
