This excellent study shows how Pius XII saved many Jews and Christians through his diplomatic work. It also shows how the Pope was neither pro-Nazi nor pro-Communist. His work for peace was not an aloof neutrality, it was an effort to limit the horrors of war, to succor its victims through humanitarian work, and to reconcile ancient enemies on sound principles of the rights of nations. A fine scholarly tribute to a great and heroic man.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
