As a catholic i am interested in the vatican and the workings of the catholic church. The book is well written and researched and is a good read. The swiss guard are a professional body that train with the most modern firearms-they use the same standard issue weapons as the swiss army. They do not display firearms in public. They also operate in plain clothes. This book give a good insight into their history and also their current tasks. One disadvantage of the book is that it could of discussed weapons and tactics of the guard in more detail. They are very few books in english on the guard and this is a fine work.
