Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Anita Barnes Lowen
Awful Jack Frost is up to his old tricks. He and his goblin crew have stolen the Music Fairies' magical instruments. "I'll form a Gobolious Band...with these instruments, I'll go far. Frosty Jack, a superstar." Now the world is out of tune. Lullabies are horribly off-key. Singing sounds much more like screaming. Even car horns are honking off-key. Unless best friends, Rachel and Kirsty can help the fairies find the instruments, music everywhere will be ruined. If Jack Frost wins the National Talent Competition (quite likely with those special instruments), there will be lots of publicity and "it won't take long for people to realize he's not human." Then everyone will find out that fairies do exist." Rachel and Kirsty's first challenge will be to find Poppy the Piano Fairy's piano in time If they do succeed in finding the piano and returning it to Fairyland, what about the other stolen instruments? Take a special sneak peek to learn about Rachel and Kirsty's next adventure with Ellie, the Guitar Fairy. From The Music Fairies series, this chapter book, which follows the format of previous books in the Rainbow Magic series, is illustrated with simple line drawings. Written by Daisy Meadows, a pseudonym for four writers who created this commercial series. Reviewer: Anita Barnes Lowen

Poppy the Piano Fairy is another book in the fairy series by Daisy Meadows, and just as with the others, but daughter couldn't put it down! This time, Poppy's piano is stolen by Jack Frost and his goblins, who turn all the world's music out of tune, and plot to win a competition with the fairies' magical instruments. Human girls have to work together with the fairies to rescue the piano and keep Fairyland a secret, and foil the goblins plans, of course! My daughter is 6 and she loves the entire Fairy series. She plays piano and I had hoped this would be more about piano specifically, but the piano is really just a backdrop. There are 7 books in the Musical Fairies series and I'm sure she will read them all. This is a fun, quick book for little girls who love fairies, magic and make believe!

A beautiful black she-cat with dark green eyes pads into BirchClan territory. She seems to be sad and theres a strange feeling of guilt that no cat can understand why she is.
