William Maestri is a priest, author, teacher, and coach. Ordained in 1977, he has served the Archdiocese of New Orleans for twenty years. He has written more than twenty books, numerous articles, and many video- and audiocassettes on spirituality, medical ethics, social ethics, and theology.
Illustrator Marilyn Carter Rougelot, who also provided the illustrations for Mimi's First Mardi Gras and Mimi and Jean-Paul's Cajun Mardi Gras as well as Portraits of Extraordinary Women, is a native New Orleanian. She began her art training in the city's Vieux Carr and is an accomplished painter specializing in portraiture.
Sheila Bosworth, a prolific New Orleans writer, is the author of the novels Almost Innocent and Slow Poison .
