    highly recommeded

I have found this book to be very beneficial. I also have The Power of a Praying Wife, which is also a great book. I found the devotional to be very helpful with more specific prayers. Stormie does a wonderful job in writing about many, many topics that I believe many married couples deal with. High praises for this book!

Handy tool for anyone wanting to strengthen their marriage

"The Power of a Praying Wife Devotional," is different than other devotionals that I use. It is set up in a way that allows us to focus on praying not only for our marriage, and husband, but also to to focus on praying for ourselves.I think often as wives, mothers and caretakers we often forget the importance of praying for ourselves, but Ms. Omartian gently reminds us that when we pray for ourselves it affects our spirit, soul and body as well as our marriage. The author actually devotes one third of the book to devotions and prayers for the husband, and one third of the book to us as wives and a third to our marriage. Instead of doing this by sections she alternates between the three. Their are one hundred devotions which cover many issues and struggles found in many marriages.

I usually never read a devotional from cover to cover, and its no different with this one, I instead use the table of contents to lead me to topics that are relevant to my marriage and have found the prayers and scriptures very useful. Each chapter is short but has plenty of substance, because of the insight provided by the author. They are each typically two and 1/2 pages and begins with a scripture, a devotional and then a prayer.I have never had the pleasure of reading anything else by this author, but this book makes me a fan and I will be looking up more of her work. If your a married woman looking to strengthen your marriage then this book is a must have, but I think it would also make a great gift for someone about to be married as well.

A complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

    Follow up devotional

A wonderful follow up after the ground-breaking book on praying for ones spouse. This daily devotional keeps the prayer focus current. The devotional is more impactful if the original book has been read.

    Helpful and to the point

I really enjoy reading these short devotionals on targeted topics. I usually think about something that I want to pray about for the day and then look for a devotional that seems to apply. I have learned a lot about myself and about my perceptions of my husband.
