Power of Metal/Symphonies of Steel compiles a number of minor classics from the '80s hair metal era. Not many of the featured bands were very popular with American audiences, and none broke through to mass commercial success. Nonetheless, some of the featured bands here were some of the better bands of the era, in particular Helloween, Kreator, Celtic Frost, and Virgin Steele.
