Untapped psychic powers spark to life, and her chosen solitary existence fills with creatures that shatter her safe reality. Now the very thing she fears the most is the one thing that will complete her in every way possible.

Detective Cole Barnett has mastered the vampire within. It has earned him respect and a position with Sector 13, the hardest job a vampire can hold. When a beautiful mortal is thrown into his investigation, with powers able to subjugate vampires, she tests his restraint.

Cole and Mia's passion ignites, but Mia's fear holds her back and she struggles to forget his touch and possessive kiss. What she doesn't realize is the more she runs from him, the more excited he becomes, and the hunt is something he cannot resist.

Power of the Moon is both gripping and exciting with its enticing plot and steamy dreamy characters!! An amazing book that captivates your mind and leaves you breathless and wanting more!! From the moment I read that first line I found myself drawn into Tina's make believe world! A solid six hours later and I was still lost. I literally could not bring myself to put this book down once I started reading it, it was that amazingly awesome!! Many kudos to Tina and Firefly & Wisp Publishing!! You have yourselves a winner with this one!! I don't know how patient I can be holding out for book number two!! I will and have recommended this book!! It is an amazingly awesome read that cannot go overlooked!!!

I read this book back in May, and the plot and imagery are still fresh in my mind. Tina knows how to deliver a fresh approach to the vampire genre and succeeds with the creation of Mia and Cole (who is totally gorgeous). I loved the book from the word go, and one word that sums it up is STEAMY! WOW, what can I say other than, I felt like I was guilty of committing a crime after reading the elevator scene - but so well written you just smile and nod to yourself because the imagery is so great, you just fall into the scene. No doubt book two will deliver even better STEAM and I for one cannot wait.

Power of the moon written by Tina Carreiro is a superb work of fiction that leaves you wanting more, not just after you have finished reading but as the story progresses... You want to know "more" about the characters, Mia with her abilities, Cole with his sheer tenacity. I am so pleased that Barnes & Noble are re-stocking this book. This is a solid book if you like vampires and the seductive nature they seem to emit, if you like a decent read with the paranormal entwined then you still won't be disappointed. Bring on book two.

This book is amazing! My mom bought me a kindle for my birthday and this is one of the first books that I have loaded on it. I fangly love it! lol I can't believe how hot Cole is! I picture my tv love interest Zach Levi as him... he is something too. I'm so glad you don't have a guy on the cover, it would be hard to picture someone as hot as I have in mind. Can't wait for book two! I love the beginning so far of Covet... I hope that's not Mia's head! Maybe it will be, that way, you can put me in the book! haha... Can't wait until I have some money to buy the paperback!

Wow! What a powerful book! Keeps you guessing, keeps you bugging your eyes out, keeps you wanting to shake Mia while chanting GO FOR IT, GO FOR IT! Tina can write some amaaaazing sensual scenes! Definitely a book for adult females. I would not recommend for under 18 because of the sex scenes. Plenty of action and suspense, plenty of down and dirty, and plenty of Mia and Cole. All I got to say is "Can I see those abs?" Very detailed images, and makes you feel like you are right there through all of the bloody and hot scenes. Can't wait for the next one, especially after the end of book teaser for the second installment. Review by Mom's Novel Characters on Facebook.

Just finished reading this, I liked it! I don't really get into many 'romances' as I am male. This was my wife's and I decided, 'what the hell!' I'm glad I did. This is better than some of the books that I've read lately. I was surprised to hear it was a new novelist. Great job:)

I picked this book up on Kindle in May on the 14th... it was 5:00 p.m. and I finished at 8:45 p.m. I have read this thing so many times that I may have a different eye color from crossing my eyes so much! I wonder what color my aura is? Maybe I have a metallic ring around myself...Can't wait to order this on paperback! Hopefully it will be here soon.

I have read this book 6 times and each time is as good as the next. I will never think of elevators or police interrogations the same way again. I love the Native American twist that Tina writes in the book as well. If you don't pick up this book, you will be missing out on a wonderful story.

Loved Power of the Moon! The Vampire Cole is sexy and powerful and his relationship with Mia is full of twists and turns and steamy romance. It's a really unique take on vampires and one of those books that you just don't want to stop reading! Five stars in every category!

Wow, did I love this book! It had an interesting concept right from the beginning. Tina Carreiro has created a unique paranormal world in Power of the Moon. From the first chapter you begin to ask yourself, "What is Mia?" Is she a succubus? Is she a psychic? And as the story progressed and her power grew I couldn't help but flip the pages eager to find out. And when I did, it wasn't at all what I expected. Although the world building and concept are interesting, it's the characters that kept me engaged. I really liked Mia, she had some issues, but I loved watching her work through them. Cole was a sexy alpha male and what I liked most about him was that he pushed Mia. He felt protective of her, but still recognized the strength within her and pressed her so she could grow and learn to protect herself. And boy did she ever, Mia was awesome. Even the secondary characters were great. Mia's mom was probably one of my favorites. I absolutely loved the fact that she was involved in Mia's life and accepted whatever situation was thrown at her-often with complete and utter aplomb. I laughed aloud when Mia recalls a time when she was ten years old and her mother tucked her into bed saying, "Hey, do you ever feel like you're being watched when no one is around? Well if you do, don't worry. It's just a ghost. The guy who owned the house before us died on the couch. He's harmless, Goodnight now." Don't you just love her? Mia and Cole's relationship is packed with sexual tension. For those who enjoy the buildup, Power of the Moon does not disappoint. There is an instant, sizzling attraction between the two, but still, Mia fights it to her last breath. She struggles with her feelings, she fights Cole and she fights her own fears and doubts, but the struggle makes it all the more satisfying every time he tears down a brick from the wall surrounding her heart. The only criticism I have for this book is that I have to wait for the sequel. I'm impatient and I can't wait until the next book is released to see what happens next. I definitely recommend Power of the Moon to anyone who likes paranormal romance.

I wasn't sure what to expect from a first book from an unpublished writer and I was blown away. Ms. Carreiro gave us a whole new plot line never before seen in a vampire romance. I'm digging on Cole! I can't wait to read another creation from this writer. There are more coming, yes?

No one writes a super sexy scene quite like Tina. It's a wonder her book doesn't spontaneously combust! I highly recommend you read Power of the Moon if you want a good story and memorable characters and an author who doesn't spare the juicy details.

I very much enjoyed this wonderful first novel by Tina Carreiro. The mix of romance and suspense kept me turning the page. Tina knows how to tell a good story and engage the reader into the world of Mia and Cole. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and what happens to the push/pull relationship between these two characters.

I'm sometimes a little leery of vampire paranormal romances. I love them, don't get me wrong. But when they are bad novels, they are really bad usually. Funny how that works. I'm not even too terribly picky, I don't think. I don't mind overdone ideas as long as the characters feel original, the storyline feels original around the overdone idea, and it's ends somewhere in the realm of decent. I just like vampire novels. So I do love the idea of the paranormal police, human girl, even the bride thing. All perfectly fine. I just started out the novel nervous, so at first, I didn't exactly enjoy myself. After I started getting into the novel though, thats when the good (and the slightly not-so-good) came out for me. I did love the idea of blue handcuffs, by the way. That is the best detail about the book, I think, that really does set it apart in my mind from the million other vampire novels out there. That is what makes this novel. Firstly, paranormal cops, yes. That is a bit overdone nowadays, but it's always a good read if done right. Vampires, woot! Human psychic-like girl was needed. And because this is not really a series of stand alone books, the romance did have to be a bit on the slow side building up and yet fast enough the reader isn't going to abandon the book in disgust. All of that was pretty well done. The plot that was devised was nice, there were surprises so I didn't feel like I knew what was going to happen when it did, so I wanted to find out what happens next. Characterwise, I really do love Cole. He's my favorite. He's a vampire, he's fun, and I like vampires that are supposed to have control don't. So it was fun. I especially liked how Cole would force Mia into getting angry in some of their interactions to help with the dangerous situations they were in. Now.... not a huge fan of Mia. She has hangups. That's usually good. But this girl's hangups have even BIGGER hangups. That isn't so good. She ends up pissing me off a lot because she does some seriously dumb stuff in situations that shouldn't have happened. I can understand some, heck, romances always have the girl doing something - or a few things - that aren't so bright while they fight the attraction of a man. That's usually great fun. I even like vulnerable, or damaged, women too. (I love damaged men more though). But I just felt that Mia made nearly every situation worse. I mean, yeah she's supposed to be Cole's weakness a bit, but to seriously make everything worse nearly all the time? Or it felt that way to me. Admittedly, yeah, she's got power and she does help in a lot of ways, but dang, the girl is new at all of the stuff going on in her life and she spends so much time either trying to prove herself capable or prove that she's INcapable and she can't even make up her mind which. Erm, yeah, sorry. That was a rant. I am not a huge fan of Mia in this book much. The chemistry, though, is OFF the charts hot. It was nicely done how much they want each other, although with Mia's hangups, I usually feel Cole's want a lot more than Mia's. Now, writing wise, it was well done in all things grammar and spelling and such. I did feel though the dialog - especially in the beginning of the novel - was a bit weird, and some situations seemed to be really forced. I don't know, it feels like either the author normally writes from an outline and didn't, or normally doesn't write from an outline and DID, trying to force situations where in some odd spots.

wow this book was a very fast sit on the edge of your seat read for many different reasons. this is a sexy and I mean sexy action packed read that will leave you wanting more. especially more of cole (yummy). mia is special even though she does not she it that way for a very long time. she can see auras of people around her even the dead. and when she tries to help a homeless man she has grown fond of she is thrown into a world of creatures she did not even believed are real. while trying to save art the homeless man she stares down a vampire that now wants to kill her. trying to figure everything out. she falls in love with cole a vampire cop. she struggles with trust with cole throughout the whole book. but only because she has been hurt so much in the past that she has built up a brick wall around her heart. cole is patient though and he helps her break that wall down. ladies this is a must read. it will have your blood boiling. keep a spray bottle of cold water close or be prepared to take cold showers. you are going to need to do one or the other. cole is yummy. tina gives great description throughout the whole book. tina is going to leave you wanting book 2 like now. I know for me it is going to be torture waiting for COVET THE MOON. also ladies I was told by tina on twitter that a fabulous lady on goodreads named dana is working on cloning cole lets hope she is successful and makes more than one.

In P.A. Lupton's debut novel we have the beginnings of a really strong PNR series. In Bound by Blood we meet Brianna Reese, FBI Agent, witch and all round alpha female. Brianna newly transferred to Denver is partnered with Morrison a old school FBI Agent and both have to investigate the death of several drained females. During the investigation we meet Nathan Vampire extraordinaire..Nathan has some secrets that will change Brianna's life forever. PAL has created a strong female lead who doesn't need any man to help her kick butt whether it be human or vampire. She is a very compelling character with a well rounded back story which helps the reader emotionally connect and care about her. The male leads are perhaps not as well rounded as Brianna with a few scenes that just didn't seem to be in character for the type of male presented. Short of that the plot is great, a true old fashion who-dun-it and a surprising end. I can't wait for the next book to see how these characters develop even more and see how Morrison handles his changes. Solid 4 stars which I can see heading for 5 if her next one is as good as the first. Recommended to all PNR fans especially those who like a bit of mystery with their vamps!

I loved this book! It was a refreshing approach using some Native American elements in the story, which I enjoyed very much. The heroine, Mia, is not a whiny damsel in distress type, either, which was a big plus in my opinion. I liked that Mia developed her own powers..she's not all helpless when it comes to needing Cole (the very hot hero) to rescue her all the time, she can hold her own. The ideas the author used for weapons and 'wardrobe' were awesome. The way Mia learned more about the NA legend/heritage at the end was great, I'm looking forward to learning more in the next book for sure! :) I liked how Ms. Carrerio has the supernatural/human law enforcement task forces arranged as well. I'd also like to add that I am a Lab Tech who has worked in hematology, coagulation, pathology, and blood banking since 1995, and all of her technical stuff to do with blood and the ME office is really accurate. She really did a great job on her research! I am anxiously awaiting the next book in this series...
