    Excellent Reference That's Reader Friendly

    Power System Operation has been an excellent resource for me for nearly 20 years. As an author of two books on power system planning and technical communications, I can tell you the authors have done a fine job of giving readers what they need in a concise and reader-friendly format. I also referred to the book when I was a professional power system operator for a major utility and then have used it in my consulting practice. The only major topic that I would like to see covered in the book in greater detail is communications in the control center environment - how system operators communicate with each other and with field personnel under routine and emergency conditions and the types of documentation required in the control center.
