Overview

In her latest, radio personality and author Ingraham (Shut up and Sing) calls on the American people to take back the phrase "Power to the People" from the anti-establishment groups of yesterday that, today, have made the country, according to Ingraham, "a slave to fringe groups, political correctness, expanding bureaucracies, and our own consumerism." Taking an approach that makes mutually exclusive groups out of those "working and taking care of their families" and the "protest culture," Ingraham's message is loud and clear: "they're coming for you." Specifically, "they" means the Lifetime network (brainwashing women to "swear off men and family"), the growing ranks of "Team Atheist" (including Dan Brown), "family deconstructivists," illegal immigrants and Islamic jihadists, among others. Chapters cover most of today's hot button topics-the war in Iraq, homeland security, the judiciary, the news media and global warming-with attitude and conviction. Ingraham's commentary on the lack of education in our schools and the "pornification" of the culture contain her most sound, articulate arguments (bolstered by a wealth of statistics), but Ingraham's assembling tactics are overzealous; still, fans of her strident radio show should be pleased to find more of the same here.

This book was a wonderful read. I actually purchased this one so that I can study it and review it again whenever I want to. For a long time I've been feeling that little ol' me couldn't make much of a difference because I'm never in front of a tv camera, behind a radio talk show microphone or even someone who gets polled. This book gave me some new ideas and fired me up to take on some of the local, state, and national issues that have been bugging me of late. I now have a vision and some goals to accomplish in these areas. Thanks, Laura, for your inspired work here! Keep 'em coming, PLEASE!!!

What continues to amaze me in this society is the bravery of 'reviewers' sitting in the privacy of their homes and criticizing a book that they clearly never read. Wow - - - you liberals are just too clever!! What a pathetic attempt to persuade individuals not to buy a book based merely on the fact that you happen to disagree with the author's position. What are you scared of?? Laura is incredibly intelligent - - she clerked at the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court and her show is hardly ever boring. Having actually read the book, it provides an interesting perspective on how to actively confront many significant issues which are slowly resulting in the decay of our American society. Read it and enjoy.

First off all anyone who says 'same old same' or 'no good arguments' or 'same right wing nonsense' either has not read this book or is a full time liberal book critic who sits at their computer all day and bashes any conservative book/author.My advice move out of your parents house get a job and pay your taxes!!! How can any red blooded American be opposed to getting invloved with your community,or local politics or protecting our children against external parsites like porn? If you really read this book Laura explains that even if you live in a liberal community and its policies are liberal because majority rules well thats power to the people!! The problem is as she explains is that liberals usually cannot win a vote so they rely on judges to rule in their favor, look I can go on and on but what is wrong with restoring morality and standing up to what we think is wrong and unjust? Answer: Nothing, it is what GOD wants us to do and for a man like me who overcame drug addiction, criminality, incarceration (9 years worth) and manipulation of our legal system (Implemented loopholes from liberal ideas) I can say that I had great identification with the last chapter on religion I was raised Roman-Catholic now I just call myself a Christian but all the same it was through Gods grace and the application of conservative principles that I was able to tranform my life.God bless you Laura God is smiling upon you and thanks for a great book that inspires patriotism, involvment, faith and to rid ourselves of apathy and complacency in order to improve ourselves, our children, our communities and our great country.

I enjoyed listening to the book. It was so informative from very small things that can be done to make people more aware of the politics everyday to the presidential politics and how politics tie into our everyday life. I enjoyed listening to Laura talk about her mother with great love and compassion and her own battle with cancer. She is a hero in my eyes.

This book says what I have been saying all along. We need to take back what our four fathers had worked so hard to give us.

This is a great book and should be read by every American. It truly summarized all the issues of America and actually gives rational solutions to many of problems. Thank you Laura and POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

After reading 'Power to the People,' I was angry at the weak-kneed so-called leaders of both political parties, but relieved that she continues to sound the alarm on behalf of so many of us across the country.

WOW! Laura's analysis of current conditions is logical and right to the point! The entire country should read this to gain perspective on what is truly happening in these unbelievable times.

Finally someone wrote what America, most of us, are thinking. We have got to get back to our roots. This book does it for me.

This book was good for me and for my children. America is slowly being corrupted and defiled in baby steps due to some insane definition of freedom. If we the people stand together, maybe we can take a giant step back and recover some of the decency we have forgotten.

This is a poorly written book. It is an extension of her radio program that is in itself a daily regurgitation of incoherent streams of consciousness.Ingrham seems incapable of staying on-point in this novel and resorts to throwing out the next neo-con talking point while talking down to the reader from some lofty throne of moral superiority. Much in the same vain as Coulter,Hannity,O'Reilly, and of course Rush, she believes that any publicity is good publicity. Unfortunatley, she can't write. And it's very likely that she will join the ranks of the fallen heroes from the Right who have preached rightousness shortly before they are exposed as a fraud. Also,Inghram and these other so called 'patriots' have done far more than their share to promote divisiveness in the USA and are only interested in feathering their own nests and pocketbooks. It would be a waste of good money to buy this praddle.

If keeping the real culutre of corruption from reaching your children you must read this book.

Laura really hits it out of the park. As the grandfather of 8 I was praying someone would stand up and shine the light of day on where our culture is heading...in a handbasket.

Laura does a good job of making the case that our government has gotten too big and too intrusive in too may areas, because we 'both red state and blue state political types' have allowed it by our lack of direct participation. She also makes a convincing case against the 'pornification' of America, with nudity everywhere one turns. Little children cannot handle blatant sexuality, and it is child abuse to expose them to too much too early. This also is a problem we can correct, as Laura explains. If you love America and want to make her a better place for those who are coming after you, read this book and get involved. Laura in a genuine phenomenon, and though wildly popular and one of the most successful radio talk show personalities ever, she is very down to earth and approachable, with a common touch that comes from the heart. This, along with her dry wit and devastating humor, explains why she has an ever-growing army of fans. She was a speechwriter for Ronald Reagan, is a former lawyer, clerked for Clarence Thomas, and was a TV host on CBS and MSNBC, so she has the street cred as well. Laura is not to be missed!

Excellent book for all ages to read. Has good insight into what a few fringe, but very vocal radicals want to do to our country.
