Power Unleashed is the third book in the Miami Scorcher series and this series is very aptly titled. The sex is hot, the characters are great and plot tantalizing in this quick read. As a reader, I really enjoyed how Paz and Adam both have fragile secretive sides to them. The secondary characters were well placed and a welcome addition to the story line. I have not read the previous two books in the Miami Scorcher series so I felt a little lost in the beginning but just enough back-story I was quickly able to fall into place. If I were to have one complaint about this book, it would be I wish it had been a little longer. Excellent read to pass the afternoon with.

I received this book from JeepDiva in exchange for my honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.

    Powerfully Hot Read

Originally posted at: www.whippedcream2.blogspot.com ***** The scary enforcer is really a 5' 10" teddy bear. While everyone seemed to be worried about what Adam had in store for Paz, what they had not expected was that he would want to make sweet passionate love to her. He was shocked, especially since he hadn't made love to a woman in decades, but by his body's reaction all the parts still worked perfectly. What he really need to do was to turn his libido off so that he could do his job as the enforcer of the counsel, but that wass easier said than done.

If Paz had not shown her strength in the previous story, Worth the Risk, she certainly proved it in this story. Even when she was afraid of what the enforcer would do to her she was prepared to do what she could to protect those she has come to care for. This is evident when she deals with Adam in regards to Shea. It is also obvious in the way she seems to always want to protect her younger sister, even when her sister is trying to do the same for her.

I enjoyed that Adam and Paz both had a part of them they had not admitted, and could not admit to. Paz thought that her secret would bring death to not only herself, but also the pack that had taken her in. What she had not realized was that Adam harbored a similar secret. They both had very similar personalities, which allowed them to keep their secrets for so long. They both clearly had very strong willpower and I think it really helped them care for each other.

Adam's jealous streak when it came to Richard was extremely amusing. As a reader I could see just as well as Adam had that Richard and Paz had a special relationship. Although it was not sexual, Richard cared for Paz just as much as his family. I think because Adam was this man that everyone feared it was fun to see him thrown off balance by his jealousy. It made you see his human side and see his flaws as well as his strengths.

The antagonistic conflict was a carryover from the previous story. I do think it worked because I had watched it unfold in the previous story, so I strongly recommend you read that prior to reading this story.

You will not regret reading the previous story or this one. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a great shifter story.
