Kate and the Clans ~ Chapter 6

I would've thought that getting carried around by my neck would hurt, but it was actually quite comfortable. "We're almost there." Pikepaw told me. At that moment, I see two wide streams, connecting together at a point to make a V-shape around a area of land. Pikepaw wades in, having to swim for a bit around the middle. My eyes widen. I've never seen cats who swim before. Flowingpaw walks a bit farther downstream, to where rocks made a sort of bridge across the gap of water. She leaps onto the first rock, then on the second. But as she's jumping for the third rock, a big wave of water rolls past, hitting Flowingpaw squarely in the side. She scrabbles, trying to get a grip on the slick rock, but is unable to do so and is, along with me, washed into the water. The shock of the icy cold stuns me into stillness. Flowingpaw paddles her way back to the surface and then to the bank. She gently puts me down, and starts licking my fur. "Are you all right?" Pikepaw asks as he cathes up to us. "I am, but I'm worried she'll catch a cold if she's out here too long." Flowingpaw replies. "Come on, let's go. Should we take her to Pebblebrook or Raindapple first?" Pikepaw asks. "Raindapple. She doesn't look sick or injured, but still...." Flowingpaw mews, picking me up again. Abruptly, I realize that I'm exhausted. I feel like I could sleep for a week. My eyes are closed, but I can still hear when we enter an area, and in that area I can hear many voices. "Pikepaw, can you get Raindapple?" I don't hear his reply, but I inagine tht he nodded and went off to find the feline that Flowingpaw wants. By the time he gets back, several others have crowded around us. "What's that?" "It's a kit!" "Is it from another Clan?" "I don't think so...Flowingpaw, where'd you find her?" I hear some ask, and many other low murmurs that I can't make out. "Look out, Raindapple's coming through!" Pikepaw's tone is slightly impatient. At that moment, Flowingpaw sets me down, and I feel something softly moving across my body. "Well, she doesn't seem to be hurt or injured in any way, even if she is asleep on her paws. Flowingpaw, take her to the nursery and see if Pebblebrook will nurse her. I think this little she-cat is about the same age as her kits." A new voice says, a voice I assume is Raindapple. Flowingpaw picks me back up, and heads away. We enter a new place, the air saturated with warm, sweet scents. "Flowingpaw? Is that you?" A drowsy voice asks. "Yes, Pebblebrook. Listen, while I was out with Pikepaw, we found a kit. She's about the same age as yours, and until we find her mother, would you nurse her?" Flowingpaw says. "Of course. Set her down." Pebblebrook said instantly. I open my eyes for a moment, but it's too dark at first to see much of anything. Flowingpaw nudges me towards something that seems like the source of the sweet scents. I want to know what Flowingpaw put me next to, but I'm too tired to say awake any longer.~~~~~~~~~~I don't know why, but I don't really like this chapter. There's just something about it.....though I do like getting back into the groove of writing a chapter a day! Also, Kate is a 5-moon kit, and I keep forgetting to add in things like "Examplecat was bigger than me by about example height"
