As an entry level Engineer, this book opened my eyes to the power of a designed experiment over the trial and error, one-variable-at-a-time, inconclusive report-generating muck taught at many universities. Not only does it provide a method, but also more critically, it helps the reader internalize the concepts necessary for empirical work. The APL code in the original would benefit from updating to a more commonly used programming platform, such as MS Excel and Visual basic, or as an executable placed on a CD.
