Very Informative and Helpful, and a Pleasurable read.

This book is exactly what I was looking for. I was planning to build a table for my entryway. I needed design tips, as well as construction tips.

Much of the book is comprised of insights provided by experienced, professional experts. They give information on design recommendations (size relationships, wood color and grain, etc.) and, most importantly, they give very detailed information on construction techniques. They show which joint methods work best, and explain why they work. The photos are excellent. They carefully explain how wide boards, and glue-jointed boards, expand and shrink, and give a lot of options on how to accommodate this expansion and contraction, so your furniture will not split.

As a non-professional home woodworker, I found the book a very entertaining read. It's also an easy read, avoiding too many technical terms. Though I have worked on a lot of wood projects in the past 10 years, this book was full of things I didn't know, or just never thought of.
