Features: The editors utilize well-chosen diagrams that correlate with the sonographic images to give the reader a sound basis to begin and then move through the pathology of the head and neck. The insert on the sonographic images showing landmarks and transducer location for that particular image allow the reader to quickly assess the location and plane of imaging. The "box bullets" throughout the various chapters give a ready review of major points to allow the reader to quickly scan the chapter for pertinent information. In addition, the general hints and pitfalls provided direct the reader to a closer examination of problem areas. It was a pleasant surprise to find the chapters dealing with management issues. What the surgeon needs to know, and why, as well the chapter dealing with biopsy techniques, are important additions.
